Individual Child & Teen Therapy
At Best Self Psychology, we understand that the journey of growing up can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for neurodiverse children and teens. Have you noticed your child struggling with certain challenges?
We’re here to support them every step of the way. Our individualized therapy sessions are thoughtfully tailored to meet each child’s unique needs, recognizing that every child has the potential to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Dr. Bari Schwartz is trained in various Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches. She knows that navigating emotions and building resilience takes time, and she combines her expertise with a warm, compassionate approach to create a safe, neuroinclusive environment. In her sessions, Dr. Bari works closely with your child or teen to help them identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that may be holding them back. Together, they’ll uncover healthier ways of thinking and responding to the world around them.
Additionally, many children and teens experience difficulties with emotion regulation, and Dr. Bari recognizes that this can be particularly tough. To help, she teaches practical, evidence-based skills in emotion regulation, enabling children and teens to manage intense emotions and build resilience.
She also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles through the evidence-based DNA-V model, which supports children and teens in clarifying their personal values and aligning their actions with these values. This approach encourages a compassionate self-relationship, embracing all experiences, both positive and challenging.
